Feeling guilty-ridden, I planned to make a long contemplative post after finished playing 2 rounds of DOTA and thought of doing some soul-searching reflection for the one last night i will spend at home during this long block leave. But yet all plans were shattered after i drifted off to explore the superficialities of the internet, with sites such as Facebook being the usual sinners for drawing my attention to pictures and contents that I know I am eager to know, but yet make no meaningful impact to my life apart from causing me to dwell further in my free time. Sometimes, how i wish i can completely escape from the realms of social communication tools and be just contented with my own personal space here.
Why do I have to succumb to my innate greed and expose myself to the happenings of other people's lives? Knowing more doesn't transform me into a more informative person, but rather in my opinion, clog up my brain with unnecessary information that will in turn haunt you in your dreams. No doubt, ignorance is bliss in this context and i learnt to always be contented with what you have. It's no longer an issue of not being the frog in the well, by remaining vigilant on facebook and keeping a sharp lookout for any latest pop-up on your facebook news feed. Sometimes, i feel that news feed are overwhelmed with irrelevant updates and if you really want to keep in contact with a close friend, it will be more advisable to have meet-ups, that encapsulates the crux element of human touch.
Facebook is a sinful platform to seek mass attention, rather than an appropriate avenue to air grievances, or keep in contact with people. That's why i refrain from posting facebook status updates and instead, choose to update my life here, and allow really interested people to make their way to this personal space. Logging into facebook is just like forcing tons of informations, from your whole network of friends, directly into your face, while a blog filters the really interested from the main mass and people choose to visit and read things they really wanted to.
Maybe its about time to reconsider whether i should even login to Facebook, a site that is more often not one of the most popular visited sites apart from other favourites such as email and school message boards, after i switched on my computer.
**Alright, its time to take a last good rest and i promise to make a good round-up post, that in fact i actually plan to write for this post, on 150810- the last day of freedom. (though i realise that i have been making plenty of empty promises lately....)
I shall call the post, Holidays Spent At Home.
