This week has been pretty much a smooth-sailing one as I began to count down to the 6th week of trade course, and definitely 2 weeks after to graduation parade with my black beret (: Live firing and routine physical trainings + sai kang summed up the past few weeks when I experienced the grit and strength of the 0.5mm Heavy Machine Gun, General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and my primary weapon (aka new wife), the Semi-Automatic Weapon (SAW). Haha i doubt most who are not exposed to these army jargons will be literally stunned by now as I ramble on with these new toys; not that I began to find my new passion in playing with these military equipments, but i am obliged to handle them as a AI trooper. So well at least like what my parents said, one of the merits of serving NS will be the once-in-a-lifetime experience to have hands on with these exquisite technologies and having the opportunity to fire live ammunitions, which people normally pays stacks of cash outside (in this case I mean not only outside the military context, but also beyond our country's shores) to get a feel of what's live firing. Hmm, indeed a staggering experience to fire a machine gun mounted on tank.
Well ostensibly, I can't stop myself from blabbering perpetually about life as a solider, whether is it just during social talk with friends and relatives during the weekends, scholarship interview sessions with other applicants or even blogging in my own personal space, especially when i have earlier decided to dedicate this post to talk about my university education. It has dawned on me that army life has became the ubiquitous topic off the coffee table, and it came not as a surprise when everyone (i meant guys) was just rambling about their NS life, their company, sergeants, trainings, postings, vocations during the Spring EDS Scholarship Session. Indeed, SAF has been successful to a great extent in making an inroad into our lives, permeating our lifestyles deep and beyond while having a firm clutch on what we say and what we do.
So once again, I got carried away talking about NS, leaving no time to blog about my education plans. I have to stop and round up this post asap as the time to book in draws nearer. So just some updates about my plans for tertiary education, so as to at least make this post more relevant to the topic...
Right now after much admission processing by the universities, I have been ideally offered 2 choices for me to ponder upon, at least until 1st June.
1. NTU- Double Degree For Business and Accounting
2. NUS- Concurrent Masters Business Administration (Acc.) with Masters in Public Policy.
2 irresistible offers and what left is the pivotal scholarship to put the icing on the cake. I am still waiting to hear from you NTU and NUS....
